Dean Gurrie: Irish songwriter with a real life passion for music

Dean Gurrie has always been surrounded by music of all genres growing up in his native Sligo. These many influences have helped him create his own unique guitar style and rhythm.

Dean recorded his first single, “14 Days”, in 2000 and he toured the country extensively, supporting acts along the way including The 4 of Us and The Frames.  He took a step back from the stage for a while but continued his love affair with his music and song writing.

In September, Dean released his debut album “The Calling”, recorded at Edenvella Studios and mixed and mastered by the renowned UK Producer/Engineer Ian Caple, who has worked with such artists as Kate Bush, Ryan Adams & Tricky.

Dean Gurrie is preparing for a new Irish tour later this year

His first single, “Gimme a Chance”, demonstrates his passionate and personal song-writing skills and unique rhythmic guitar style.   The video for this single features the incredible performance of renowned comedian and actorJoe Rooney (Father Ted).

Hot Press magazine says “The quality of Dean’s songwriting would suggest that, with a little bit of good fortune, a wider audience awaits for someone who has such an easy rapport with the audience”.
