Joshua Burnside releases new song and announces second album

Inevitability. Mortality. The absurd, the wicked and the damned. All and more fall under the grim purview of the latest Joshua Burnside release ‘And You Evade Him/Born In The Blood‘, out on the 10th of July. A stark departure from the acoustic waves of its preceding singles, ‘And You Evade Him…’ sees Burnside overrun the perceived limits of folk music amidst a storm of dark tones, dogmatic vocals and brooding, alternative drone sounds.

One to watch: Irish artist Joshua Burnside has just released details of his new single and new album due in September

Influenced by the likes of John Martyn and Nick Drake, Burnsides anxieties take in the economics of the apocalypse. The Almighty Banks of The West, built upon a culture of colonialism, bloodshed and classism, look on as the world spirals further into chaos – and as they reap the rewards, more continue to be Born In The Blood. A brooding, tense affair, ‘And You Evade Him’s…’ textured seas of traditional and punk-infused folk soundtracks humanity’s bankruptcy.

And now, three years after the release of his award-winning debut album ‘Ephrata’, Joshua Burnside is pleased to announce his highly anticipated sophomore album ‘Into The Depths Of Hell’. An absurdist examination at the suffering humans inflict on each other every day and the innate human condition that demands we find some humour in it lest we collapse, ‘Into The Depths…’ postulates that perhaps the first ring of hell begins on our door step.
