Mik Pyro (former vocalist of Republic of Loose) releases debut soulful solo album titled ‘Exit Pyro’

Mik Pyro is  one of Ireland’s finest musicians. (Fact!).

We have caught Mik live on a number of occasions at Whelan’s Bar in Dublin. He has a regular residency slot in the venue on Sunday nights  upstairs in Whelan’s with his band covering a wide range of soulful and Rock N’ Roll numbers.

His band,  can sometimes range between 5-6 of some of the best session players in the entire country of Ireland performing a wide range of blues and Rock N’Roll numbers from the likes of Little Richard and Fats Domino.

We know this because we ourselves have being there on a number of occasions and each time we have witnessed a Rock N’Roll foundation that has the room upstairs in Whelans Bar on Wexford Street in Dublin hopping for what we can only  describe as a Rock N’Roll religious and soulful affair that has the room bouncing for  over two hours each night we have being there.

Over the years Mike has being writing a number of original songs and recently he took to Facebook to announce his debut album by saying,

“Ive being writing these acoustic songs, which I’ve been writing my whole life but I never got to use them in a public release because everything was more pop and R&B,” he said.

“I’ve always had these songs lying around but I saw this as an opportunity to release them, along with some new material.”

Pyro had a berry successful launch of the album at Whelan’s bar just last week.

Former Republic of Loose vocalist and musician goes it alone on debut album ‘Exit Pyro’ to incredible soulful results.

Mik Pyro’s long awaited debut album ‘Exit Pyro’ has most certainly being worth the wait!

The album itself is bustling with confidence. It is a joyful album to listen to from the moment the opening track ‘Accounting’ lets rip.

‘Exit Pyro’ is very well produced and polished album that really sends good vibes to the listener throughout its 1 hour and 3 minutes run time that left us wanting more by the time closing track ‘Go Safely’ comes to an end.

’Go Safely’ as a closing track most definitely us those memories of  Van Morrison at his finest.

A very impressive album for us here at Finbar Hoban Presents from beginning to end
