We are very sorry to hear about the passing of Tina Turner. She really was a legend in her own right.
I remember spinning a lot of her singles when I used to DJ in the Humbert Inn and Rowlands Bar in Castlebar many, many moons ago.
Tina Turner, the pioneering rock’n’roll star who became a pop behemoth in the 1980s, has died aged age of 83 after a long illness.
Tina Turner was a huge inspiration to many musicians and songwriters through out the world, some may even say she was the original Beyoncé. Strutting her stuff on the live stage was her trade and she did this very well. A great singer and performer.
She had suffered ill health in recent years, being diagnosed with intestinal cancer in 2016 and having a kidney transplant in 2017. Her music will always live on.
