It has being coming for a long time and we are delighted to say that our ‘Track of the Day’ today comes from none other than Ballina artist and popular songwriter KATIE CASSIDY.
You may remember when we posted a video online of Katie performing a cover of the classic Nina Simone track ‘Feeling Good’ a few years ago which took off like ‘wildfire’.
This particular performance went on to gain Cassidy many fans.
Track of the Day: Ballina native continues to shine on debut single ‘Leech’
In fact on this, her debut track Cassidy continues this trend, structuring a soulful voice that at no point winds down while her vocals soar on the singalong chorus of the track itself.
According to Cassidy herself she says, “This follows my collaborative piece, ‘On The Phone’ with Austrian electronic pop duo And_I in April of this year”
But whether Cassidy is taking on the blues, as her main foyer only time will tell. So far, we think she is on the right track.
One thing is for certain, Cassidy understands her trade and continues to press all the right buttons.
