This tapestry is weaved together by producer Davie Ryan , mixed by Alex Borwick and mastered by Sam Proctor of Lismore Mastering.

“The Last 35” recounts the story of the escape of 35 POW’s from Kilworth army camp, Co. Cork during the last months of the war of independence. The men involved had secretly dug a tunnel under the camp.

Track Of The Day: Mark Lyndon’s debut  offering ‘The Last 35’ is available on all streaming sites now and will form part of Mark Lyndon’s debut album which will be released in 2024.

“Historical events from this period are often told as part of a wider narrative. I chose to tell the story from the perspective of an individual involved. The poor conditions in the camp and the sense of desolation and despair must have been to the fore in the minds of the parties involved.

These young men felt abandoned. They had to fend for themselves and in doing so shared a unique experience and so their success and any associated plaudits should be for themselves alone.”
