Track of the Day: A Lethal Black Ooze have just released debut track ‘I like to Feel Alright’

On the background of the song, Andy states:

‘During the pandemic, having nowhere to go, I got into the habit of writing lyrics on the foggy door while wasting time in the shower. This song sticks out particularly as the shower door had just enough space to write ‘I Like to Feel Alright’ on it. At the time, between lockdowns, I was receiving vocal coaching from Dara Kiely of Gilla Band, so I spent a lot of time in my apartment just shouting the line over and over at the top of my lungs..”

“..Due to the idea being one line, I originally disregarded it until Jamie and Iain reacted positively when we were messing about with it in the rehearsal space. I was very insecure at the time about shouting but it’s a lot of fun to play live to people that don’t know what to expect.”

Written and recorded at Dublin’s Yellowdoor Music Studios and Sonic Studios respectively:

‘I Like to Feel Alright’ features production and bass from Jamie Hyland (above right) known for her involvement in intersectional feminist punk band M(h)aol and as Gilla Band’s ‘Holding Hands with Jamie’, Jamie.

On how Jamie became involved with the band, Jamie States:

‘Gate-Crashing the first rehearsal, she shoe-horned her way into becoming a member of ALBO by providing filthy basslines and a recording ethos which aligned with Andy’s raw and naturalistic sensibilities.’ – caskré.com

Contributing drums is instrumental swiss-army knife Iain Faulkner (above left) known for his bass contributions in Tau & the Drones of Praise and for providing professional live sound services to both of the red hot Irish bands; Gurriers & The Mary Wallopers.
