Laura Belyea is a Canadian born singer-songwriter, who has made a home in Ireland and is relaunching her music career with her second single, ‘Revelation’.
Belyea has many strings to her bow, with growing success as the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of female founded startup, Talivest, an Irish technology company that empowers organisations to improve their employee experience through its suite of data-driven products.
The mom-preneur is juggling remote work with homeschooling her children, raising investment for her startup and launching newly recorded music, all during a pandemic. The timing could simply not be better for her latest single ‘Revelation’, which brings a grunge-fuelled sound that delivers politically charged lyrics to what are unprecedented times across the world.
Laura’s musical career began when she joined the growing indie scene in Toronto, Canada, where she founded her band Scorpion Chainsaw Operation Booze Orgy (aka SCOBO). Her unique sound quickly earned SCOBO regular gigs at Canada’s hottest venues and festivals, including NXNE Festival, Canadian Music Week and Indie Week! Quickly finding her feet here in Dublin, she is working with Robin Ball who helped record her latest single, and will be looking to get back performing live as soon as venues begin to reopen.
She hopes to inspire the next generation of female leaders in both music and business to take the leap and follow their dreams. From leading business transformations and technology initiatives, to rocking it out on some of the most infamous Canadian stages including The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern and Lee’s Palace, headlining with the Sunparlour Players, Run With Kittens and The Elastocitizens!
The video for ‘Revelation’ was released on June 1st of this week and you can view it here.
