Track of the Day: Amy Ellen returns with brand track “Day Dreamin”

The inspiration for this track was drawn from artists such as Julia Jacklin and Lucy Dacus. It’s a 12/8 shuffle, which influenced the production of the song.

 Amy shares:

“I wanted to create a track with an old school feel that still fits into a modernised world.”

Irish artist AMY ELLEN is back with brand new track “Day Dreamin”

The slide guitar plays a recurring riff and introduces the song becoming the melodic theme. “I remember singing the slide guitar riff to Axel and he played it back to me exactly how I heard it in my head. That was an important moment for me during the writing process, I knew then we were on to something, he just got it.”

Amy on the theme of the track:

“The song captures a moment in our teenage years, where we catch ourselves fantasising about the future, a person or even a lifestyle. The lyrics “How do I get you to notice me? When you don’t even know my name”, speak for themselves. We have all romanticised a person, hoping to be noticed by them.”

The track was recorded in Tsunami studios by Sean Byrne and Adam J Wilson and was mixed by Alex Borwick (Sam Fender).
